Frequently Asked Questions
Is Color Helper free?
Yes, all tools are completely free to use. There are no paid tiers, no subscription plans, and no hidden charges. Every feature on this site is available to everyone without cost.
Do you store my uploaded images?
No. Images are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded to any server. Your images never leave your device, and no copies are stored anywhere.
What color formats do you support?
We support HEX, RGB, and HSL color formats. Our converter tools let you transform between these formats instantly, and all tools display results in multiple formats where applicable.
What is WCAG contrast ratio?
WCAG contrast ratio measures the difference in luminance between two colors (typically text and background). The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines define minimum ratios for readable text: 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text at AA level, and stricter ratios at AAA level.
Can I use these tools offline?
Most tools work after the initial page load since everything runs client-side in your browser. However, full offline support requires a service worker, which is planned for a future update.
Do I need to create an account?
No account or sign-up is required. All tools are accessible immediately without registration, login, or any personal information.
Is Color Helper related to Color Savvy?
No. Color Helper is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Color Savvy or any of its products or services.
Can I use the palettes commercially?
Yes, all generated colors and palettes are yours to use in any project, including commercial work. There are no restrictions or licenses — simply create and use the colors you need.
